Job Description ECS is seeking an experienced
Systems Administrator to work
remotely providing operations management for the work performed under this contract for
NIH NIAID Enabling and Advancing Technologies (NEAT) . All other tasks are intended to facilitate the implementation and operation of Enterprise Clinical Information Systems. This engagement provides a spectrum of management, technologies development, applications/software engineering, bioinformatics support, and professional development.
Please Note: This position is contingent upon [contract win]. The System Administrator performs and manages the daily activities of configuration and operations of systems which may be mainframe, mini, or client/server based.
Key Responsibilities: - Perform, supervise, and manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of systems which may be mainframe, mini, or client/server based.
- Plan and monitor the optimizing of system operation and resource utilization, and perform systems capacity analysis and planning.
- Plan and monitor assistance to users in accessing and using business systems.
- Collect, store, and analyze data relevant to monitored applications to perform and report accurate root causal analysis of all related issues and to support trend analysis and forecasting.
- Ensure effective change management of all OCICB-supported software applications.
Required Skills - Minimum 6 years' experience supporting clinical technology, including, but not limited to, system administration, configuration management, and lifecycle management for Health IT software development initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Security or related field.
- Active Public Trust or higher security clearance.
- Strong supervisory skills in managing system configuration and operation.
- In-depth knowledge of optimizing system operations and resource utilization.
- Proficiency in performing systems capacity analysis and planning.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills to assist users in accessing business systems.
- Extensive experience working with mainframe, mini, and client/server-based systems.
- Experience monitoring systems for unanticipated issues and reporting on systems performance metrics.
- Experience applying troubleshooting techniques across various server, application, and network technologies.
- Experience with security standards and best practices, including authentication and authorization mechanisms.
- Reside within the Washington DC Metro area.
- Travel within the Washington DC Metro Area, and CONUS as needed.
Desired Skills - Ability to lead, mentor, and guide engineering teams to ensure adherence to best practices.
- Familiar with HHS Enterprise Life Cycle (ELPC) methodology.
