Overview
Client is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join a premier team supporting a leading health insurance division. In this role, you will play a critical part in corporate budget formulation, financial variance monitoring, and multi-year cost allocations across federal employee health plans and key operational projects. Key Responsibilities
Formulate, monitor, and maintain corporate budgets, business plans, and monthly forecasts across specialized health plan lines.
Perform deep-dive variance analysis on monthly financial performance, analyzing timesheet allocations, operational metrics, and expense reports.
Extract and analyze detailed financial data from enterprise tools (Oracle, Essbase, SAP Ariba) using advanced Excel modeling.
Audit and monitor vendor contract expenses, ensuring accurate cost-allocation logic across multi-year software and operational agreements.
Collaborate cross-functionally with departmental leads (such as Health Services) to investigate financial discrepancies and support special project initiatives (e.g., AI integration and maternity pilot programs).
Prepare routine financial reports and operational metrics for presentation to management and partner organizations.
Required Qualifications
3 to 5 years of financial analysis, corporate budgeting, or financial planning experience.
Must have hands-on proficiency with Oracle Financials, Essbase (SBase), and SAP Ariba.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data extraction, manipulation, and financial modeling.
Demonstrated ability to conduct granular variance investigations and root-cause financial analysis.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with an assertive, proactive approach to problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior financial experience within the Healthcare, Health Insurance (e.g., Blue Cross Blue Shield network), or Federal Government (.gov) sectors.
Familiarity with financial/operational metrics tracking (e.g., claims processing or customer service performance metrics).
Exposure to modern analytics tools or AI-assisted workspace applications (e.g., Microsoft Copilot).
Bachelor s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
