Job Description:

We are looking for a passionate Business/Data Analyst to turn data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions resulting from disciplined run experiments focused on optimizing business processes. This person will assist conducting full lifecycle testing activities to include requirements, analysis and design, develop analysis and reporting capabilities, and continuously monitor performance and quality control plans to identify improvements. The analyst will dig deeper into the data, using statistical techniques like correlation, regression or time series analysis to then summarize findings in a language Senior Management understands. This person must know which statistical techniques apply to the given problem, and then translate these results into information useful to the senior leadership.

This is a full-time position with a hybrid schedule based out of our NYC office. Remote work may be considered for candidates located within the tri-state area.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports

  • Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets

  • Proactively create reports and graphs that may be useful and provide insights resulting from various experiments

  • Work closely with management and IT team to prioritize business and information needs
  • Import, clean, transform, validate or model data with the purpose of understanding or making conclusions from the data for decision making purposes
  • Use statistical tools to improve data quality and for designing or presenting conclusions gained from analyzing data
  • Work with IT team colleagues to extract data relevant for analysis;
  • Create data definitions for new database file/table development and/or changes to existing ones as needed for analysis

  • Collaborate with IT colleagues, Administration associates, and upper management to integrate data mining results with existing and new reports
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Specific tasks include:
  • Reporting
  • Responsible for tracking and reporting Billing and Payment information
  • Client enrollment reporting, tracking and analysis
  • Historical reporting
    • Pre-Sales Technology Support
  • Website and Mobile demo set up
  • Provide Marketing team with Covala specific statistics to be included in Marketing material
  • Revise, update and maintain covalagroup.com (Marketing site)
    • Implementation / Enrollment
  • Provide file layout
  • Review initial census data
  • Offer letter receipt, review with the Administration team and post it to internal website
  • Ownership of technology action items
    • Administration / Ongoing maintenance
  • Client payroll and bonus files upkeep and maintenance
  • Technology oversight of billing and payment process

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a data analyst
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc), databases (SQL etc) and ETL
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
  • Ability to interact effectively with different team members, and external client at all levels
  • Exceptional verbal, written and communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • High tolerance for ambiguity matched with desire to organize it
  • Experience in the development of business reports
  • Strong time management and or multitasking ability
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Experience in workflow analysis and documentation
  • Ability to consult with others in the process
  • Ability to think and act strategically for long-term results
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions

Education/Experience:

  • BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics preferred

The base salary range for this position is $52,000 - $70,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
