What You Will Do (When the Time Comes):- Support the design and development of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects from concept through construction.
- Develop preliminary electrical designs, site layouts, and system configurations based on sound engineering principles.
- Create and review electrical calculations, single-line diagrams, and technical documentation to support project development and execution.
- Partner with estimating, procurement, project management, and field teams to optimize project designs and improve project outcomes.
- Review utility interconnection documents, facility studies, and power purchase agreements to support project planning and execution.
- Provide technical guidance to AutoCAD designers and engineering teams throughout multiple project phases.
- Support equipment evaluation, database management, and Bill of Materials development for BESS projects.
- Analyze project data and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering, procurement, scheduling, and project controls.
What We Look For:- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent renewable energy industry experience.
- 2+ years of experience in utility-scale BESS, Solar PV design, or the renewable energy industry.
- Strong understanding of energy storage systems, inverters, electrical equipment, and utility-scale renewable energy design principles.
- Experience creating engineered site plans, electrical drawings, and AC/DC single-line diagrams.
- Proficiency with engineering and design tools such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, ETAP, CYMCAP, PVsyst, SAM, PVSOL, and/or Python.
- Ability to interpret manufacturer specifications, engineering standards, and installation requirements.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
