Summary

We're looking for a Design Engineer II to join our Raleigh, NC team! In this role, you'll take on a variety of electrical distribution design projects, working on both underground and overhead systems, collaborate with senior engineers, and apply your technical skills while continuing to grow your expertise. This is a great opportunity for someone ready to build on their engineering experience and contribute to impactful projects.

What You'll Do:
  • Applies technical knowledge to designs and ensures projects meet specifications
  • Communicates challenges about scope, cost, schedule and quality
  • Works with Designers and Drafters to complete design packages
  • Gains an understanding of CAD programs and the software analysis tools utilized in engineering design
  • Supports the preparation of simple to moderately complex designs or small portions of larger projects, including calculations and drawings
  • Leads the development of their discipline's design on simple projects, and supports complex projects, including simple to moderately difficult technical analyses
  • Interacts with clients on a limited basis
  • Understands and applies appropriate industry codes, standards, and regulations
  • Conducts communications in a professional and clear manner; communications are timely and in an appropriate format for the topic.
  • Identifies information to be communicated to the client and project stakeholders through team leads and project managers.
  • Self-checks work assignments prior to submitting for review, completes work with minimal errors. Participates in peer reviews and QC reviews.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in engineering at ABET accredited university
  • 1-2 years of electrical distribution design experience
  • Proficiency in drafting/design software BOUD, Maximo, AutoCAD
