As part of the OpenSpace development team, the
Software Engineer will be a valuable contributor to a web-based full-stack Agile Development Team with responsibilities that include:
- Develops, troubleshoots, and debugs software programs for enhancements and new products.
- Develops unit-level tests that ensure work product is of high quality
- Authors software documentation for both internal and customer use
- Reviews peer contributions as part of code reviews
Experience and Skills- 5+ years of relevant programming experience
- Software development in Java
- General knowledge with Docker, and Kubernetes
- Experience with RESTful services
- Basic understanding of web-based technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScirpt)
- Build pipeline automation and packaging using tools such as Bamboo
- General cloud knowledge with AWS or Azure
- Familiarity with working in a SAFe Agile environment using Atlassian suite of tools such as Jira and Confluence or other similar collaboration tools
Preferred Skills and Experience - Expert software development experience in Java, C, and C++
- Experience with multi-threaded or realtime applications
- Experience with QuestDB
- Experience developing unit tests with tools such as SonarQube or other code coverage tools
- Expert knowledge with Docker, Kubernetes, and Rancher
- Secure software development experience and implementation of best practices
- Experience with Satellite Command and Control systems
