Job Title: SAP Finance Architect

Job Location: Rochester, MN

Job Description:

Lead the end-to-end S/4HANA Finance architecture covering FI, CO, New GL/Universal Journal, Asset Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Banking, Treasury, and integration with logistics modules.
Drive conversion readiness activities including CVI (Business Partner Conversion), Universal Journal migration, and simplification item remediation.
Define the target financial data model including Chart of Accounts harmonization and organizational finance structures.
Design cost center, profit center, segment, fund, and grant structures aligned with enterprise financial reporting requirements.
Architect tax, asset accounting, treasury, and cash management processes aligned with financial compliance and operational efficiency.
Align financial architecture with IFRS and GAAP reporting requirements.
Drive SAP Best Practices adoption for Greenfield implementation and guide design decisions aligned with Clean Core principles.
Serve as the primary finance design authority for senior stakeholders and executive leadership.
Conduct workshops including Discover, Fit-Gap Analysis, Design Sessions, and Playback Sessions.
Provide functional oversight during configuration, development, and testing cycles.
Guide the development of functional specifications including WRICEF objects and integration designs.
Support the design of integration solutions with enterprise platforms and external systems.
Oversee data migration planning and object definition for Greenfield implementation.
Ensure successful execution of System Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing, and cutover readiness activities.
Support cutover planning, reconciliation processes, mock conversions, and month-end validation activities.

Skills:

Expert understanding of Universal Journal (ACDOCA) and S/4HANA financial data structures.
Strong expertise in SAP S/4HANA Finance architecture and enterprise financial system design.
Deep knowledge of financial accounting processes including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Banking, Cash Management, and Asset Accounting.
Strong knowledge of cost center accounting, internal orders, profit center reporting, and product costing.
Experience with treasury and banking processes including bank account management, cash positioning, forecasting, and payment processing.
Expertise in finance data transformation, mapping, and migration during S/4HANA conversions.
Experience with embedded analytics and SAP Fiori financial applications.
Strong understanding of enterprise system integrations across finance, procurement, HR, and operations platforms.
Ability to evaluate customizations versus SAP standard solutions while maintaining Clean Core architecture principles.
Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.

Experience:

12+ years of SAP Finance implementation and architecture experience.
Experience working on multiple full lifecycle S/4HANA implementation programs.
Experience leading finance architecture for enterprise-scale ERP transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Lead architecture design and governance for S/4HANA Finance implementation.
Facilitate finance design workshops with senior business stakeholders.
Provide leadership for functional teams across Finance, Controlling, Asset Accounting, Banking, and Treasury domains.
Represent the Finance domain in program governance meetings, risk reviews, and project stage gate reviews.

Qualification And Education:

Bachelor s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
