Seeking a senior QA Automation Engineer to support a high-impact application modernization initiative. This role will focus on automated and manual testing, performance validation, defect tracking, and quality assurance across the full software development lifecycle. Ideal candidates bring deep QA automation expertise, strong Agile experience, and hands-on knowledge of modern testing frameworks such as Playwright or similar technologies.

Job Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for web-based applications
- Execute manual testing to validate functionality, usability, and system performance
- Create and maintain test plans, test cases, test scripts, and QA documentation
- Perform regression, functional, integration, and performance testing
- Track test execution results and document defects using Jira or similar tools
- Develop and maintain requirements traceability matrices
- Establish automated test schedules and reporting processes
- Support testing across development, QA, UAT, and production environments
- Troubleshoot failed test cases and partner with development teams on issue resolution
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, reviews, and retrospectives
- Lead or support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities as needed
- Provide occasional after-hours support for testing or production validation when required
qualifications:
Qualifications
8+ years of experience in quality assurance with strong focus on test automation
Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks such as Playwright, WebdriverIO, or similar tools
Strong experience creating test plans, test cases, test scripts, and execution documentation
Experience with manual, regression, integration, and performance testing
Working knowledge of JavaScript and HTML
Experience using Jira or similar defect / test management tools
Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments
Ability to troubleshoot defects, analyze test failures, and collaborate with development teams
Experience supporting UAT and end-to-end testing activities
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills
Experience with automated QA reporting, Xray, Zephyr, JMeter, or accessibility testing is a plus
Must currently reside in the Austin, TX area for hybrid onsite requirements
