The Work

The Senior Power BI Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing highly scalable and visually compelling business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI. This role requires deep expertise in data modeling, visualization, and report creation to deliver actionable insights that support critical decision-making processes. The Senior Power BI Developer plays a key role in collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, transform complex datasets into meaningful dashboards, and ensure data accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with organizational objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, and studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes.
  • Investigate problem areas.
  • Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
  • Work on the SCOR EI initiative.
  • Make updates to the SCOR Java applications.
  • Updates to business logic, updates to the user interface and business logic as well as extending reporting capabilities to Power BI and the system data model.
  • Supports application enhancements and defect corrections in maintenance mode.
  • Supports applications in multiple environments with coding testing, peer reviews, documentation, defect root cause analysis, and troubleshooting as required.
  • Maintaining code coverage, testing, and security policies and procedures is required. Available for on-call support as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • 8 years of experience working with Power BI.
  • 8 years of experience with writing SQL for relational databases.
  • 8 years of experience in RESTful web services on Spring platform.
  • 8 years of experience with Junit and Unit Test development.
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

Minimum Skills:
  • Must possess problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Requirements gathering and documentation.
  • Business process improvement and system design.
  • Ability to respond effectively to customers with a sense of urgency.
  • Proficient in Microsoft and Adobe toolsets, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to handle and manage multiple tasks at any one time.
  • Ability to forge new relationships, individual and teaming in nature.
  • Must be a Self-starter, that can work independently and as part of a team.



Preferred Qualifications:
  • 4 years of experience with Angular UI Framework.
  • 4 years of experience with Crystal Reports.

Working Conditions
  • Professional office environment, with the ability to work on site in the main office in Austin, TX.
  • Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.
