A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for a Lead Java Developer.

Position type: Full-time, Contract (W2)
Duration: 12 Months Contract (Extension Possible)
Location: Charlotte, NC - 3 days Hybrid on-site role

As a Lead Java Developer, you will:
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

Define technical architecture and roadmap for enterprise application modernization initiatives.
Lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable Java and React 18 based full-stack applications.
Drive microservices design, REST API development, database strategy, and application performance optimization.
Establish and enforce coding standards, engineering best practices, and AI-assisted development methodologies.
Conduct code reviews, provide technical leadership, and mentor senior and junior engineers.
Partner with business stakeholders, architects, and product owners to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Lead technical decision-making, risk assessments, and solution governance across multiple development teams.
Support Agile delivery processes including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and production support activities.
Ensure applications meet security, compliance, scalability, and maintainability requirements within the banking environment.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions supporting Governance, Risk, and Compliance transformation initiatives.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Hands-on Java enterprise application development.
Experience building modern full-stack applications using React 18 and Java, with strong expertise in application architecture and design patterns.
Proven experience leading large-scale application modernization and digital transformation initiatives within enterprise environments.
Strong expertise in microservices architecture, RESTful API development, SQL Server, performance tuning, and scalable application design.
Hands-on experience with Python and the ability to contribute across the full application stack.
Experience with cloud-native technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, or GCP, along with CI/CD pipeline implementation.
Working knowledge of Kafka or other event-driven messaging frameworks.
Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or similar technologies to improve engineering productivity.
Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring engineers, conducting code reviews, defining technical standards, and driving engineering best practices.
Ability to collaborate with architects, product owners, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.
Prior experience within financial services, banking, governance, risk, or compliance domains is highly preferred.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work in a hybrid environment, with availability to be onsite in Charlotte, NC three days per week.

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
Pay Range*: $65- $70 per hour
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate''s education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
