Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to support enterprise network infrastructure for a leading financial services client in Phoenix, AZ. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Cisco networking technologies, routing & switching protocols, and network security configurations.
This role requires hands-on troubleshooting, network design support, and infrastructure optimization in a high-availability enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
Administer and maintain Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls across enterprise networks.
Design, configure, and support LAN/WAN infrastructure ensuring optimal availability and performance.
Implement and maintain network security baselines, ACLs, and device hardening.
Configure and manage routing and switching protocols such as OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, STP, VLANs, and QoS.
Support VPN solutions including IPsec and remote access connectivity.
Collaborate with infrastructure and cybersecurity teams to deploy and maintain network capabilities.
Troubleshoot and resolve network performance, latency, and connectivity issues.
Monitor network health using tools such as SolarWinds, Wireshark, and NetFlow.
Maintain network diagrams, configurations, and operational documentation.
Participate in change management processes and support operational best practices.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
4+ years of experience in network engineering or network administration.
Hands-on experience with Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls in enterprise environments.
Strong knowledge of routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, STP, QoS).
Experience with network security configurations including ACLs, VPNs, firewalls, and IPsec tunnels.
Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, and subnetting.
Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues using packet capture and monitoring tools.
Strong documentation, communication, and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Cisco CCNA or CCNP certification.
Experience with Cisco ISE.
Familiarity with network automation tools (Python, Ansible, Terraform).
Exposure to cloud networking (AWS VPC, Azure VNets, ExpressRoute, Direct Connect).
Experience with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Wireshark, NetFlow.
Experience working in secure enterprise or mission-critical environments.
