Role: Senior Java Developer – Integration (Kafka)
Location: Remote
Duration: 12 months
Note: candidates must meet the residency requirements (Last 5 years in the US with no more than 6 months out of the country).
Required Experience Level:
Technical Skills
• Strong Java development experience, including object-oriented programming, backend services, and integration workflows.
• Hands-on experience with API development and integration, including RESTful services, authentication patterns, and data transformation.
• Proficiency with Apache Kafka, including producing/consuming messages, schema management, and troubleshooting distributed data pipelines.
• Experience developing and scheduling cron jobs or other automated/background tasks within enterprise environments.
• Strong SQL skills with the ability to write complex queries, tune performance, and troubleshoot issues.
• Experience working with Oracle databases, including stored procedures, schema design, and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines—preferably using tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Understanding of enterprise integration patterns, especially in environments with multiple upstream/downstream systems.
Domain Knowledge
• Familiarity with Fleet Management / Vehicle Maintenance Systems or other asset management domains.
• Understanding of Inventory Management concepts, parts workflows, and related system integrations.
Delivery & Process Skills
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, participating in sprint ceremonies, backlog refinement, and story estimation.
• Ability to use work management tools (VersionOne preferred).
• Understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) processes, including incident, problem, and change management (ServiceNow preferred).
Soft Skills
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, especially in complex enterprise architectures.
• Ability to work closely with functional analysts, QA testers, product owners, and business stakeholders.
• Comfortable acting as a technical SME in discussions with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document solutions, defects, and integration flows.
• Highly collaborative, with the ability to navigate multiple teams, vendors, and integration partners.
