OverviewTEKsystems is seeking a Cable Technician for one of our clients based out of Troy, Michigan. This role supports the installation and maintenance of infrastructure for communication systems, including voice, data, and related network services. The position involves hands-on work in a physically active environment and requires attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a team.
Key Responsibilities- Install, terminate, and test communication cabling and network infrastructure
- Set up and configure communication equipment and establish system connectivity
- Verify system performance by testing circuits, connections, and equipment; identify and resolve or escalate issues as needed
- Label, organize, and document installed cables and network components
- Troubleshoot and repair connectivity or equipment-related issues
- Route and secure cabling through various building structures, including ceilings, floors, conduits, and equipment spaces
- Support the setup and organization of equipment and communication rooms
- Install and maintain cable support systems and pathways
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with project specifications and safety standards
Work Environment- Physically active role requiring lifting, climbing, and working in various positions for extended periods
- Work performed in a variety of environments, including construction and operational settings
- Requires consistent attention to safety and detail
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Basic familiarity with computers or mobile devices

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
