Hybrid two weeks onsite a month in Durham, NC

Our client seeks a Senior Software Engineer to modernize and support annuity contract generation and account opening applications. The role focuses on Oracle Insurance Policy Administration (OIPA) configuration, integrations, and extensions, with maintenance and issue resolution in Java and Oracle. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team to deliver reliable, tested solutions and improve platform capabilities that support customers' retirement and protection goals.

Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $100.00 to $70.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Engineer, modernize, and test annuity contract generation and account opening applications.
  • Configure and develop policy administration solutions using OIPA, including integrations, AS files, data intake, database architecture, and data extraction patterns.
  • Build OIPA extensions and implement palette and application security, screens, and release management.
  • Apply design patterns and UML for solution design and documentation.
  • Develop and maintain automated tests using TDD practices and related frameworks.
  • Write SQL queries and debug stored procedures in an Oracle environment.
  • Collaborate within a team as a proactive contributor and support continuous improvement.

Experience Requirements:
  • 4+ years of experience developing policy administration systems with OIPA, including configuration language, integrations, AS files, data intake, database architecture, and data extraction patterns.
  • Experience building OIPA extensions and performing palette and application security implementations, screens, and release management.
  • Proficiency with design patterns and UML.
  • Experience with TDD and frameworks such as JUnit, Jasmine, Karma, or Protractor.
  • Experience using Spring Tool Suite and Eclipse in UNIX and Windows environments.
  • Proficiency writing SQL and debugging Oracle stored procedures.
  • Demonstrated leadership as a team player and self-starter with collaborative and innovative approach.
  • Understanding of Docker and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure (preferred).
  • AWS certification (preferred).
