*** C2C, VISA HOLDERS OR REMOTE CANDIDATES WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE ***Our Client is seeking a skilled Starburst & Immuta Data Engineer with 3+ years of hands-on experience in Azure cloud environments. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and manage secure, governed data access solutions using Starburst and Immuta for policy-based data security and compliance.
This role requires strong expertise in cloud-native data architecture, distributed query engines, and enterprise data governance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement data virtualization solutions using Starburst across multiple data sources.
- Configure and manage Immuta for data access governance, policy enforcement, and dynamic data masking.
- Deploy and manage data solutions in Microsoft Azure (Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL, Synapse, etc.).
- Develop and optimize SQL queries and data pipelines for performance and scalability.
- Implement row-level, column-level, and attribute-based access controls.
- Integrate Starburst with Azure-based data sources (ADLS Gen2, Azure SQL DB, Cosmos DB, etc.).
- Configure new catalogs in Starburst, integrating with Immuta access controls
- Managing SCIM functions supporting user profiles in Starburst and Immuta
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot query performance issues.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code deployments (Terraform, ARM templates).
- Ensure compliance with enterprise security and regulatory standards (HIPAA, FedRAMP, etc., if applicable).
Required Qualifications- 3+ years of experience in data engineering within an Azure cloud environment.
- Hands-on experience with Starburst Enterprise
- Experience implementing Immuta data governance and policy management.
- Strong SQL expertise and experience optimizing distributed queries.
- Experience working with Azure services:
- Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2)
- Azure Synapse Analytics
- Azure SQL Database
- Azure Active Directory (AAD)
