Position Summary

The SLT Engineering Technician supports engineering activities related to system-level testing, hardware checkout, program validation, sample processing, and engineering experiments utilizing SLT systems. This position works from written and verbal instructions to support testing, collect engineering data, troubleshoot issues, and assist engineers in resolving technical problems. The technician is expected to work independently on routine assignments while exercising sound judgment in troubleshooting and problem resolution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Support engineering testing activities utilizing SLT systems.
• Perform SLT hardware and program checkout activities.
• Execute engineering sample testing and sample management.
• Submit and manage NVTask requests.
• Collect engineering data and provide detailed feedback to engineering teams.
• Assist in determining methods and corrective actions to resolve equipment or process malfunctions.
• Perform test equipment setup, checkout, and validation activities.
• Operate manufacturing, development, diagnostic, and test equipment, including oscilloscopes, signal generators, specialized test apparatus, and test programs.
• Support split-sample management and engineering experiments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system setup and operational issues.
• Follow written and verbal engineering instructions precisely.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation using Excel, Word, and related tools.
• Support engineering investigations and problem-solving activities.
• Assist with new program qualification and validation activities.
• Communicate test results, equipment issues, and engineering findings in a professional and timely manner.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree (AA) or higher preferred.
• 2–4 years of semiconductor test, engineering support, manufacturing, or related technical experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Full understanding of sample generation and sample handling processes.
• Full understanding of Task workflows and engineering sample requests.
• Ability to independently operate and troubleshoot SLT equipment.
• Ability to collect, analyze, and communicate engineering data.
• Ability to resolve moderately complex technical issues and make recommendations for corrective actions.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced engineering environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to following engineering procedures.

Experience Level

• 2–4 years of relevant experience.

Supervision Received

• Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work and general guidance on new assignments.
• Expected to work independently within established procedures and engineering guidelines.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in a laboratory and manufacturing environment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods while supporting testing operations.
• Ability to safely handle test hardware and equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Semiconductor manufacturing or test experience.
• Experience supporting engineering development activities.
• Experience collecting and analyzing engineering test data.
• Experience supporting SLT operations and engineering sample requests.
