Job Summary We are seeking a CCNP level Network Engineer to lead and execute a comprehensive network site assessment for a new data center location in Anoka, MN. This role goes beyond basic assessment and focuses on validating design readiness, identifying architectural risks, and providing actionable, production ready network recommendations. The ideal candidate brings strong enterprise or data center networking experience, can assess complex environments end to end, and can partner closely with architects, facilities, and delivery teams to ensure a successful deployment. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities Site Assessment & Physical Infrastructure Lead on-site network assessments of the data center facility, including: o MDF/IDF placement, rack layouts, and network room design o Cable pathways, ladder racks, conduits, and diverse routing options o Fiber and copper cabling types, counts, redundancy, and termination standards Validate readiness of: o Power (A/B feeds), cooling, grounding, and physical redundancy o Space planning for core, distribution, and access network layers Assess carrier demarcation points, ISP handoffs, and cross connect strategy Identify physical infrastructure risks that could impact scalability, resilience, or timelines ________________________________________ Network Architecture & Readiness Evaluation Review, validate, and refine proposed or existing: o Data center LAN/WAN architectures o Layer 2 / Layer 3 designs (VLANs, routing domains, segmentation) o Redundancy and high availability strategies Evaluate network designs against CCNP level best practices, including: o Routing protocols (OSPF, BGP fundamentals) o Spanning Tree and loop prevention strategies o Network resiliency, failover, and scalability considerations Assess placement and role of: o Core, distribution, and access switches o Firewalls, edge routers, and load balancing components Identify architectural gaps, technical risks, and design constraints ________________________________________ Documentation & Reporting Produce detailed, professional assessment deliverables, including: o Logical and physical network diagrams o Annotated floor plans and rack layouts o Cabling, circuit, and infrastructure inventories Deliver clear, prioritized recommendations for: o Network design improvements o Cabling and fiber strategy o Equipment placement and capacity planning Provide risk assessments with mitigation strategies and implementation guidance ________________________________________ Collaboration & Technical Leadership Serve as a technical point of contact during site walkthroughs and design reviews Collaborate closely with: o Network architects and senior engineering teams o Facilities, construction, and electrical vendors o Service providers and carrier representatives Translate complex technical findings into clear recommendations for: o Project managers o Leadership and non technical stakeholders Support planning for future deployment, migration, and cutover activities ________________________________________

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $80.00/hr.
