Summary
A globally leading consumer device company headquartered in Cupertino, CA is seeking a highly motivated NX CAD Modeler with expertise in NXopen (.net/python) to join their Battery Modeling Team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and iterating detailed 3D models and assemblies of battery packs, modules, enclosures, and associated components using Siemens NX Software as well as develop, manage and upgrade NXopen applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create high-quality 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings of battery modules, packs, and enclosures using Siemens NX.
- Perform tolerance stacking / analysis and well as enable variability studies using parametric models.
- Build parametric assembly models with assembly constraints to allow scaling.
- Use tolerance stacking to build a design distribution.
- Use geometry evaluation tools to perform quality checks and clean up model
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical design, thermal, electrical, and manufacturing to develop CAD models and assemblies to be used as inputs for other simulations.
- Ensure models adhere to design standards, GD&T, and best practices for manufacturability and assembly.
- Maintain model integrity and revision control using PLM systems such as Teamcenter.
- Upgrade existing NXopen.net applications
- Develop new NXOpen applications and Block Styler user interfaces.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in 3D modeling with Siemens NX, ideally within the consumer electronics or battery industry.
- Expertise in parametric design, assembly design and sketching.
- NXOpen programming expert level skills.
- Expertise in geometry analysis and cleanup
- Experience in battery pack/module CAD design is highly preferred.
- Solid understanding of mechanical design principles, GD&T, and design for manufacturing (DFM).
- Proficiency in working within a PLM system (e.g., Teamcenter).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
- Expertise in Synchronous modeling tools in NX preferred.
- Familiarity with FEA and geometry pre-processing for FEA preferred.
Type: Contract
Duration: 3 months with extension
Work Location: Cupertino, CA (onsite)
Pay range: $52.00 - $67.00 ph (DOE)
