OverviewWe are seeking an experienced
Communications Technician II to support installation, testing, and troubleshooting of structured cabling systems across commercial environments. This role involves installing copper and fiber infrastructure, building and dressing telecom closets, and supporting field crews to ensure high-quality, on-time project execution.
Key ResponsibilitiesInstallation & Termination- Install work-area outlets in floors, modular furniture, and walls; terminate CAT5/CAT6 jacks and properly mount faceplates and surface-mount boxes.
- Build and install telecom closets, including backboards, racks, patch panels, fiber hardware, and grounding.
Testing & Troubleshooting- Perform continuity and performance testing on horizontal and riser cabling.
- Use volt-ohmmeters, toners, and related tools to troubleshoot opens, shorts, crosses, and pair transpositions.
- Identify active voice and data circuits.
Crew Support & Documentation- Support daily crew performance, provide training as needed, and help coordinate personnel and timelines.
- Complete required documentation accurately and on time (timesheets, change orders, material transfers, work orders, etc.).
Quality & Safety- Adhere to company, customer, and industry standards for quality, safety, and installation practices.
- Follow all site-specific safety protocols and maintain compliance with OSHA and industry best practices.
Physical & Role Requirements- Ability to work at heights, off ladders, and in confined spaces.
- Lift up to 50 lbs and move up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to distinguish color codes and recognize audible signals.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Professional communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to travel within the region as needed.
- Regular attendance is required.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rayville, LA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
