Job Summary

We are seeking a System Administrator 4 to provide senior-level enterprise IT operations support, including system monitoring, batch processing, incident response, and production support. The ideal candidate will have strong experience supporting both Linux and Windows environments, handling production incidents, managing service requests, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure system stability, uptime, and timely issue resolution.

This role requires excellent troubleshooting skills, ITIL-based operational support experience, strong documentation abilities, and comfort working in a 24x7 operations model with on-call rotation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide senior-level production operations support across enterprise systems and applications.

  • Monitor systems and respond to incidents, alerts, and production problem reports.

  • Support batch processing operations, including job scheduling, execution, and failure troubleshooting.

  • Perform root cause analysis for system, application, and infrastructure issues.

  • Manage and document incidents, service requests, and problem records in IT service management tools.

  • Create and maintain operational documentation such as runbooks and playbooks.

  • Coordinate with application, development, infrastructure, and operations teams for deployments and system changes.

  • Review technical documentation and identify operational risks and production readiness concerns.

  • Communicate status, next steps, and resolutions clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Support multiple priorities independently with minimal supervision.

  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation as part of a team-based operations model.


Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of enterprise systems monitoring and incident response across Linux and Windows environments

  • 5+ years of production operations support for online, batch, and file transfer systems

  • 3+ years of batch job scheduling and failure analysis using BMC Control-M (or equivalent scheduler)

  • 5+ years of root cause analysis and troubleshooting across system/application/infrastructure issues

  • 3+ years of ITIL-aligned operational support (Incident, Problem, Service Request Management)

  • 4+ years of service desk/customer support experience with strong communication skills

  • 3+ years of creating and maintaining operational documentation (runbooks/playbooks)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (5+ years)

  • Ability to work independently while coordinating across teams

  • Ability to support a 24x7 operations environment, including on-call rotation


Highly Desired

  • 3+ years of UNIX/Linux administration experience

  • CRON scheduling experience

  • Shell scripting experience (BASH, Perl)


Desired

  • Familiarity with enterprise monitoring/alerting tools

  • Experience supporting large multi-user enterprise environments

  • Knowledge of application lifecycle support and production readiness best practices
