Role OverviewThe Lead Communications Technician serves as the on-site coordinator and crew supervisor for voice and data installation projects. This role is responsible for ensuring job completion in alignment with both company and customer safety and quality requirements while maintaining the efficiency and productivity of all assigned staff.
General Job Duties & Responsibilities- Consistently run major project crews and take responsibility for overall performance.
- Provide necessary training and ensure adherence to company and customer safety and quality guidelines.
- Hold weekly safety meetings, initiate performance-related communication, and escalate issues to the Project Manager when needed.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager to ensure productivity, timely job completion, and compliance with the project budget.
- Fully complete all project and company paperwork accurately and on time, including:
- Timesheets
- Material transfers
- Work orders
- Change orders
- Tool transfers
- Additional required documentation
- Perform quality checks; coordinate moves and cut sheets for voice and data cross-connects; prepare red-lined as-built drawings.
- Serve as the main on-site customer contact for questions and concerns; attend construction and facility meetings as required.
- Perform work consistently with strong technical expertise; troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise.
- Complete any other responsibilities as assigned.

Education, Certification, Licensing & Experience Requirements- High School diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in telecommunications or a related technical field.
- Must be able to terminate fiber.
- Minimum of six (6) months of supervisory or managerial experience.
- Must be proficient with all tools listed above.
- Must have proven ability to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including specifications, reporting, and quality requirements.
- Must know universal communications color codes.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project).

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Barker, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $32.00 - $35.00/hr.
