As a Systems Engineer you will support converting existing infrastructure appliances from dual-stack to IPv6.
*Candidates must be able to travel to customer location in Maryland*Responsibilities:- Manages and is responsible for the successful completion of all tasks in assigned projects.
- Ensure the successful migration of customer appliances from dual-stack to IPv6.
- Communicate with the customer and project team on task status, risks and roadblocks.
- Create Technical Implementation Plans (TIPs) and present to Change Advisory Board (CAB).
- Work with vendors on solutions for transitioning of management interfaces from dual-stack to IPv6.
- Coordinate with customer, Program Management and other Project managers throughout the period of performance.
- Help develop, document, and present a dual-stack to IPv6 conversion strategy, including timelines, resources, and risk management plans.
- Eager to expand knowledge and understanding of the customer's environment.
- Develop and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Conduct performance, smoke and UAT testing, as needed.
- Provide training to the government, and their successors, on details of the migration process, administration, maintenance, support and operational use of the solution.
- Participates in special projects, as needed.
- Help support in the resolution of technical problems that occur during business and non-business hours.
- Provide weekly, bi-weekly and on-demand status reports on project work performed.
Required Skills:- Associates degree in a STEM related field and at least 5+ years of experience as a systems engineer.
- 5+ years of experience working in large-scale enterprise organization.
- 3+ Hands-on experience with VMWare, vSphere, HP-OneView, HPE-Synergy.
- Must be able to obtain a Public Trust and successfully pass a thorough government background screening process (forms/fingerprinting).
- Ability to travel to customer site in Rockville, MD.
Desired Skills:- VMWare Certified highly preferred
- Experience with Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint and MS Teams.
- Experience with Confluence, Trello, ServiceNow and/or JIRA
- Experience working in Hybrid (On-Premise and AWS/Azure Cloud) projects a plus.
- Intermediate knowledge of IT networking and security.
- Experience working with any HHS agencies or entities.
- Demonstrated strong technical skills and analytic abilities.
- Demonstrated experience performing complex technical tasks with minimal direction.
- Demonstrated knowledge of risk management.
- Possess a broad knowledge of project management best practices.
Clearance: Must be able to obtain a Position of Trust and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting.
Must be able to visit customer location for fingerprinting and badging purposes.
Must have resided in the United States in the past three (3) of five (5) years.
The likely salary range for this position is $110,500 - $149,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
