Job Overview:
  • The Power BI Senior Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing enterprise-level BI solutions.
  • This role focuses on semantic modeling, advanced DAX development, data visualization, SQL development, and Power BI governance to deliver scalable and high-performance analytics solutions.
Requirement/Must Have:
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Power BI development.
  • Strong expertise in semantic modeling and dimensional data modeling.
  • Advanced knowledge of DAX and Power Query (M language).
  • Strong SQL development experience in Oracle and SQL Server.
  • Experience with Power BI Service administration and governance.
Experience:
  • Experience designing enterprise-grade datasets and semantic models.
  • Experience optimizing DAX and large dataset performance.
  • Experience implementing RLS and OLS security models.
  • Experience building interactive dashboards and reports.
  • Experience managing Power BI workspaces, gateways, and refresh cycles.
  • Experience working with large and complex datasets.
Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop Power BI semantic models using best practices such as star schema and dataflows.
  • Build scalable datasets with relationships, hierarchies, and incremental refresh.
  • Develop complex DAX measures, calculated columns, and KPIs.
  • Optimize DAX queries for performance and maintainability.
  • Troubleshoot data and calculation issues across reports.
  • Implement security models including row-level and object-level security.
  • Build interactive and visually compelling dashboards and reports.
  • Apply data visualization and storytelling best practices.
  • Develop SQL queries, stored procedures, and views in Oracle and SQL Server.
  • Perform data validation, profiling, and transformation.
  • Manage Power BI Service components including workspaces and gateways.
  • Monitor performance, troubleshoot refresh failures, and optimize datasets.
  • Support governance initiatives including documentation and naming standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver BI solutions.
  • Provide guidance to self-service BI users.
Should Have:
  • Familiarity with Oracle BI (OBIEE) semantic models and dashboards.
  • Knowledge of enterprise data governance frameworks.
  • Experience in multi-system and large-scale data environments.

  • Data modeling techniques (star schema, snowflake).
  • Power BI gateways, RLS/OLS, and workspace governance.
Additional Requirements:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical users.
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in Agile or project-based environments.
