Job Description:
Conducts research and gathers information to identify and evaluate market/industry trends and assess competitive strategies, position, and comparative metrics.
Encompasses research and analysis of current, prospective clients and the competition to influence Client's ability to win in the marketplace; Provides financial analysis and summary reporting to management.
Bachelor’s degree in finance or marketing. 5-7 years’ experience
Position Overview:
Client is seeking a highly analytical Competitive Intelligence contractor to generate insights that fuel our global expansion.
By delivering precise, actionable intelligence, you will empower our sales and product teams to capture market share and navigate a rapidly evolving industry.
This contract role will deliver multiple competitive intelligence projects, supplementing our in-house team.
Secondary research will be the main methodology, but there may be some projects with primary qualitative or quantitative research. Projects will mainly be competitive landscape assessments and competitive battlecard/playbook development.
Key Accountabilities
● Produce competitive landscape reports that synthesize secondary research and first-party deal data into robust views of the competitive marketplace in which products compete.
● Create and maintain competitive assets (battlecards, playbooks, kill sheets) to provide sales teams with actionable differentiators and objection-handling scripts.
Qualifications
● Experience: 8+ years of experience in market research, competitive intelligence, strategy consulting, or product marketing in a B2B environment.
● Financial Acumen: Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and the ability to interpret financial data (income, balance sheet, regulatory filings) to assess competitor financial health.
● AI & Tech Skills: Demonstrated skill in using Generative AI tools and Large Language Models (LLMs) to accelerate research and synthesis.
