Job Description:
We are seeking a high-caliber Principal Application Architect with a minimum of 15+ years of experience to drive the architectural strategy and systems integration for a high-profile State government initiative.
The ideal candidate will serve as the ultimate technical authority, possessing deep domain expertise in Unemployment Claims Processing and a definitive track record of implementing NASWA SIDES (State Information Data Exchange System) technical specifications. This role requires an expert blend of enterprise-level software engineering, secure web services design, and cross-functional technical leadership.
Required Core Skills (Strictly Evaluated):
Experience Level: Minimum 15+ years of dedicated software engineering, development, and application architecture experience.
Domain Mastery: Mandatory hands-on experience implementing or working with NASWA SIDES exchanges, technical specifications, and integrations.
Industry Background: Proven expertise in Unemployment Claims Processing and secure data exchanges.
Government Track Record: Prior experience working with ANY State or Federal government agencies is a strict requirement (State of Texas experience is highly preferred).
Technical Breadth: High-level mastery over enterprise application frameworks (C#/.NET or Java EE), multi-RDBMS environments, and secure web services (REST, SOAP).
Key Responsibilities:
Architectural Blueprinting: Create high-level architectural artifacts, including system diagrams, data flow models, and technical specifications to steer enterprise development.
Secure Integration: Design and implement highly secure, scalable web services to manage complex electronic data exchanges (XML, JSON) between state agency systems and external third-party brokers.
Technical Leadership: Act as the Principal Tech Lead—defining engineering standards, establishing technical roadmaps, conducting rigorous code reviews, and mentoring development resources.
Data & Database Stewardship: Architect data layers across more than one type of RDBMS platform (DB2, SQL Server, Oracle).
DevOps & Delivery: Implement CI/CD pipelines to streamline the deployment, testing, and continuous delivery of complex, multi-tiered architectures.
Expert Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve highly complex integration bottlenecks and system performance issues within distributed web environments.
