Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Salesforce Solution Architect to support projects focused on standing up and enhancing Salesforce environments for coordinated, multi-product release and regression testing.

This role owns the Salesforce solution design, including architecture, metadata configuration, sandbox strategy, integration design, data sharing, and environment management.

The ideal candidate must be equally comfortable with Salesforce declarative configuration and hands-on development, including Flows, Apex, and Lightning Components.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop Salesforce solution designs covering architecture, configuration, metadata, integrations, and environment strategy.

• Determine appropriate Salesforce sandbox types, sizing, refresh strategies, and environment configurations.

• Define metadata configuration and environment refresh approaches.

• Coordinate with Salesforce governance/DTC teams on sandbox provisioning and control.

• Define onboarding sequences for multiple product groups sharing Salesforce environments.

• Determine environment designation, naming, and alignment within the broader Salesforce Org.

• Define sandbox control models and governance responsibilities.

• Establish test-data strategies addressing production data, data representativeness, and PII handling.

• Evaluate and recommend appropriate Salesforce integration patterns for different interfaces.

• Apply Salesforce data-sharing and visibility models within solution architecture.

• Troubleshoot Salesforce performance issues and metadata conflicts.

• Support Salesforce test data factories and automated test case updates.

• Evaluate downstream and cross-product impacts of Salesforce environment changes.

• Support compliance with VA security standards and federal requirements.

• Consider differences between commercial Salesforce environments and GovCloud/FedRAMP configurations.

• Participate in technical discovery sessions with product, testing, infrastructure, and other stakeholders.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on Salesforce development experience.

• Apex development and programmatic Salesforce customization.

• Salesforce Lightning Components experience.

• Strong declarative Salesforce experience, including Flows and configuration.

• Salesforce solution architecture and technical design.

• Salesforce metadata configuration.

• Salesforce Sandbox strategy and environment management.

• Salesforce integration architecture and integration patterns.

• Salesforce data sharing and visibility/security models.

• Salesforce performance troubleshooting.

• Metadata conflict resolution.

• Salesforce test data factories.

• Automated testing and regression testing.

• Understanding of Salesforce security and federal compliance requirements.

• Familiarity with FedRAMP and GovCloud considerations.

Federal / Government Experience

Experience supporting federal government Salesforce implementations is highly preferred.

Candidates should understand how security, compliance, data handling, PII, environment controls, and governance can differ between commercial and federal Salesforce environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Salesforce Application Architect, System Architect, or Platform Developer II certification.

• Federal government Salesforce implementation experience.

• FedRAMP or GovCloud experience.

• Experience supporting large, multi-product Salesforce Orgs.

• Experience with independent release teams operating within shared Salesforce environments.

• Regression and performance testing environment design.

• Sandbox refresh coordination through governance/release management teams.

• Jira and Confluence.

• Agile delivery methodologies.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience, OR

• Associate's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, OR

• High School Diploma with 10+ years of relevant experience.

Public Trust Requirement

Must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a hands-on Salesforce Architect, not a purely advisory architect.

The ideal candidate can design, configure, develop, troubleshoot, and architect Salesforce solutions while understanding the broader impact across integrations, testing, infrastructure, security, governance, and downstream products.
