Position: CAD Designer
Shift: Monday-Friday
Our Product Designer plays an important part on the American Products Engineering team. The Engineering Team works with the Customer, the Sales Team, and Production in designing equipment that solves complex challenges for our customers manufacturing needs. They are a pivotal role in our product design process and work to analyze new ways we can improve our current and future designs based on their extensive knowledge.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Designs communications enclosures that are specific to customer requirements using 3D modeling software.
- Updates current production designs to meet customer needs, in keeping with internal standards.
- Develops Bill of Material, customer drawings, manufacturing drawings and other related engineering documents.
- Devises and conducts design testing.
- Provides product and part design innovations resulting in improved quality and cost reductions.
- Performs other duties, as assigned.
QualificationsEducation- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering strongly preferred; may consider equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
Specialized Knowledge and Experience- Must be proficient in the use of 3D modeling software; Autodesk Inventor experience is preferred;
- Must be experienced in the use of ERP or MRP Software (i.e., Syteline);
- Experience in the development of sheet metal Stamping dies, jigs and fixtures preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of industrial mechanical engineering experience, with an emphasis in sheet metal design, or the equivalent combination of related education and experience;
Other Skills- Requires the interpersonal skills to interact and collaborate with wide variety of internal personnel.
- Must be able to interact professionally, appropriately, and courteously with customers, co-workers and other outside parties
