Join a financial services technology company as a Cloud Platform Engineer in a contract role through the end of the year with strong potential for conversion or extension, especially for high performers. This hybrid position requires three days onsite per week with flexibility to choose your days, as long as you remain consistent with your schedule. You'll play a vital role in the design, implementation, and optimization of scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud infrastructure. Working closely with cross-functional teams and engineering partners, you'll deliver high-performance cloud-native solutions as the organization completes a multi-year cloud journey migrating mission-critical applications and their data from on-premises to AWS. This role combines hands-on engineering with strategic thinking, requiring expertise in AWS services, security compliance, Infrastructure as Code, and observability at scale.
Why This Role Stands Out
This is an exceptional opportunity to work on a large-scale cloud migration in a highly regulated financial services environment. You'll gain valuable experience implementing solutions that meet stringent regulatory requirements including PCI-DSS, SOC 2, and FFIEC while working with mission-critical systems that require high availability and fault tolerance. The multi-year cloud journey provides exposure to complex migration challenges, from re-architecting applications for cloud-native architectures to implementing disaster recovery and security best practices. Unlike maintenance-focused roles, you'll be actively building and optimizing new cloud infrastructure using cutting-edge AWS services including EKS, Lambda, and containerized workloads. The hybrid schedule with flexible onsite days offers work-life balance while maintaining team collaboration. With strong potential for conversion or extension for high performers, the organization values talent and won't let rockstars walk away. The role provides significant technical depth across AWS core services, Kubernetes, security compliance, Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, and observability platforms. Participation in 24/7 on-call rotation and incident response provides critical operational experience while contributing to continuous improvement. Working in FinTech or banking environments with ACH/EFT and real-time payment networks offers specialized domain knowledge that's highly valuable in the industry.
