Machine Learning Engineer - ML Systems & WorkflowsWe're looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to build and own end-to-end ML workflow systems, with a focus on enabling model training, fine-tuning (LLMs and beyond), evaluation, and iteration.
This is a full-stack ML engineering role. You'll work across data, backend services, ML training workflows, and TypeScript UIs to help researchers and engineers run experiments, compare results, debug failures, and ship model improvements faster.
What You'll Do- Build ML workflow platforms for datasets, training jobs, experiment tracking, evaluation, and model/version management.
- Run and support model training and fine-tuning, improving stability, quality, and iteration speed.
- Develop Python backend services and APIs that connect data, training, and evaluation pipelines.
- Build TypeScript-based UIs to launch runs, compare experiments, and debug issues.
- Write efficient SQL and reason about performance, schemas, and indexing.
- Improve reproducibility, testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and rollout practices for ML systems.
- Partner closely with ML researchers, product, and infrastructure teams.
What We're Looking For- 8+ years of software engineering experience with ownership of production systems.
- Strong Python and TypeScript experience (production-level).
- Hands-on experience with ML workflows: data prep, training/fine-tuning, evaluation, and deployment.
- Practical experience training or fine-tuning ML models (LLMs preferred; other DL acceptable).
- Solid understanding of SQL performance fundamentals.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and driving work end-to-end.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Menlo Park, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70.00 - $90.00/hr.
