Forward Deployed Engineer (Java Full Stack Developer)
Location: Minneapolis, MN (Onsite Preferred)

Overview
We are seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) with 10+ years of software engineering experience to build and deploy modern, AI-enabled business applications. This role is ideal for a hands-on full-stack developer who combines strong software engineering fundamentals with an interest in emerging AI technologies and customer-focused solution delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy end-to-end business applications.
  • Build scalable APIs, microservices, and cloud-native solutions.
  • Develop front-end applications using React or similar frameworks.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering practices to accelerate delivery.
  • Participate in Agile development and contribute to CI/CD and DevOps initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Strong background in Java and full-stack application development.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js, C#, or Python.
  • Hands-on experience building APIs, microservices, and cloud-native applications.
  • Front-end development experience using React or similar frameworks.
  • Knowledge of Azure, Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, or other modern AI platforms.
  • Experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or Codex.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, Agent SDKs, or multi-agent frameworks.
  • Exposure to AI agents, workflow automation, or LLM-powered applications.
  • Understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, and modern software delivery practices.
  • Experience in Healthcare, PBM, Insurance, or other regulated industries is a plus.

Ideal Candidate
A traditional full-stack software engineer who has expanded into AI-enabled application development, rather than a data scientist transitioning into software engineering. Candidates should be curious, adaptable, and comfortable working in fast-paced, customer-facing environments.
