Job Overview:

• We are seeking a skilled Automation Tester (Java/Selenium) to support a high-impact government health IT program.
• This role is integral to maintaining and expanding a large-scale automated testing framework that supports health coverage for over 7 million New Yorkers through the Health Benefit Exchange (HBE).
• You will join an established Automation Testing Team working on a multi-tier, service-oriented architecture (SOA) environment encompassing Java-based web applications and various COTS products.
• This is hands-on, meaningful work - not script execution, but real framework development and engineering.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain and expand an automated regression suite of 2,000+ test scripts built on a custom Java/Selenium framework.
• Develop and write automation scripts for complex business rules and rules engines.
• Utilize Jenkins and TestNG to support CI/CD pipeline integration.
• Perform mobile testing and contribute to mobile automation efforts.
• Write and execute SQL queries for data validation across multiple data sources using DB2.
• Collaborate within an Agile development environment.
• Apply version control best practices using Git/GitHub or IBM RTC.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering - Substitution: Master's degree in a qualifying field + 1 year of relevant experience.
• 5+ years of progressive software application testing experience, including at least 3 years testing complex or highly complex software systems.
• 2+ years of current, hands-on experience developing automation frameworks and scripts using Selenium (Java).
• Demonstrated experience analyzing and scripting automation for complex business rules.
• Experience in mobile testing.
• Core Java coding (required - record/playback or script execution only is not sufficient).
• Selenium WebDriver.
• SQL queries for data validation.
• CI/CD processes using Jenkins.
• TestNG.
• Version control: Git/GitHub or IBM RTC.

Preferred Skills:

• Mobile Automation Testing experience using Appium, or cloud-based platforms such as LambdaTest, Sauce Labs, or BrowserStack.
• Familiarity with DB2, EDI formats (834, 837), SOAP UI, Rational Quality Manager, and/or UiPath.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Domain knowledge in Healthcare, Medicaid, or Medicare.
