The Role:We are seeking a highly accomplished
Lead Cloud Engineer & Manager to join our Cloud Storage Engineering team. This is a pivotal role for a seasoned architect with strong technical acumen, proven problem-solving skills, and the expertise to set enterprise-wide guidelines for cloud storage solutions. The ideal candidate will have an extensive track record in architecting and managing large-scale storage on Google Cloud Platform and AWS, a passion for shaping future-state infrastructure, and the hands-on credibility to lead and influence technical teams at the highest level. This position is central to our mission of leveraging public cloud capabilities to drive agility, efficiency, and innovation across the enterprise.
Responsibilities- Define and articulate the comprehensive vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for cloud storage engineering across a global public cloud footprint (Google Cloud Platform and AWS).
- Ensure the cloud storage strategy aligns with the overall enterprise technology strategy and business objectives.
- Develop and implement new patterns for moving data at scale from on-premises data centers to public cloud storage.
- Continuously identify and evaluate new storage offerings from cloud service providers to determine their potential value and scope of implementation.
- Maintain hands-on proficiency by strategically contributing to key codebases and automating solutions using Python.
- Perform high-level code reviews and provide technical guidance on Python-based solutions to ensure architectural integrity and alignment with strategic objectives.
- Provide expert technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship across engineering teams to foster a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
- Engage with and influence senior executives, business leaders, and key stakeholders to champion the cloud storage strategy and communicate its business value.
- Strategically influence or directly manage the allocation of significant financial and human capital resources to optimize investments in strategic initiatives.
Qualifications- 8+ years' hands-on experience in Cloud Infrastructure Engineering.
- Minimum of 3+ years' experience operating at a management level, with direct responsibility for defining and executing cloud strategy for a large-scale enterprise.
- Deep, demonstrable expertise in architecting, deploying, and managing enterprise-grade cloud storage across multiple public cloud providers, with a preference for Google Cloud Platform and AWS.
- Strong understanding of modern software development practices and proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Java).
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Kubernetes, GKE, EKS) and their integration with resilient data storage patterns.
- Ability to quickly grasp new technologies and perform proof-of-concepts or technical deep dives to inform strategic decisions.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to translate complex business challenges into actionable technical roadmaps.
- Proven experience leading, building, and motivating high-performing teams or individuals within a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
Education- Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master's degree preferred
