Role: Devops Developer (W2 Requirement)

Client, in collaboration with a prominent financial services firm, is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to focus on developer tooling and platform engineering. This pivotal role is part of the Developer Experience (DevEx) team, tasked with building, scaling, and owning internal platforms and tools utilized by over 700 engineers. The successful candidate will be a tool product owner and builder, with developers as their primary customers.
What the right candidate will enjoy:
- Building CI/CD platforms from scratch for enterprise-wide adoption.
- Developing internal developer tools for enhanced productivity and collaboration.
- Owning platform scalability, security, and reliability.
- Directly interfacing with engineering teams as customers.
- Working autonomously with minimal instruction.
What type of experience does the right candidate have:
- 5+ years in DevOps or Platform Engineering.
- Strong Linux/Unix systems administration background.
- Proven experience in building and scaling DevOps tools and platforms.
- Mastery in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform required, CloudFormation preferred).
- AWS expertise, including EC2, IAM, networking, AWS Lambda and Fargate.
- Deep experience with Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions as a platform builder.
- Production-scale experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm.
- Strong scripting and development skills in Python, Go, Groovy, JavaScript.
What the responsibilities are of the right candidate:
- Design, build, and scale internal CI/CD platforms used by hundreds of engineers.
- Develop and maintain developer tooling from the ground up, including build and release systems, artifact management, security scanning, and compliance tooling.
- Own infrastructure as code standards using Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Build and administer Git-based platforms including repo governance and branching strategies.
