 Role Overview

 Experienced Engineering Manager responsible for leading multiple parallel engineering projects through a structured design framework, from concept development through production launch. This role requires strong technical depth in mechanical analysis, hands-on validation experience, and the ability to coordinate across internal teams and external vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple projects in parallel, ensuring commitments are well established and met, with regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Work within an established engineering design framework including a formal design review and tollgate process covering: requirement traceability, concept development and down-select, detailed analysis, validation strategy, validation execution, and production launch.
  • Own deviation review and disposition of non-conforming parts, requiring strong decision-making.
  • Lead engineering engagement in the PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), coordinating with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Communicate and present project status and updates to leadership, cross-functional peers, and various stakeholders including production, reliability, and sourcing.
  • Work hands-on in validation and product troubleshooting, navigating progress and addressing roadblocks as they arise.
  • Develop drawings, documentation, and procedures with a strong understanding of GD&T.
  • Perform fatigue evaluation and life predictions, including parent material S-N curves and weld evaluation.
  • Apply mechanical component design analysis techniques including bolted joint analysis, FEA, and CFD.
  • Apply root cause analysis techniques including containment and corrective action.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of engineering experience.
  • Experience leading multiple engineering projects simultaneously within a structured design review and tollgate framework.
  • Strong decision-making capability with experience in deviation review and disposition of non-conforming parts.
  • Proven experience leading PPAP processes with cross-functional and vendor coordination.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills for leadership and stakeholder audiences.
  • Hands-on experience in product validation and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in drawing, documentation, and procedure development with strong GD&T knowledge.
  • Experience with fatigue evaluation and life predictions (S-N curves, weld evaluation).
  • Proficiency in mechanical component design analysis: bolted joint analysis, FEA, CFD.
  • Experience with root cause analysis techniques including containment and corrective action.
  • AutoCAD proficiency.
