Job Description:
IT Software Asset Management Developer

Role Overview

The Software Asset Management Developer - SBOM is a member of the Software Asset Management (SAM) team responsible for developing, configuring, integrating, automating, and supporting SAM solutions. The primary focus of this role is the organization's Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) capabilities, including the development and integration of solutions used to collect, process, normalize, enrich, correlate, and report software component data. This position works closely with SAM Analysts, the ITAM Solutions team, and the ServiceNow Platform team and requires availability for scheduled after-hours and weekend work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, test, implement, and support solutions for collecting, processing, validating, normalizing, enriching, integrating, and reporting SBOM data.
  • Translate approved business and functional requirements into technical requirements, user stories, development tasks, and working solutions.
  • Develop integrations and automation between GitLab, JFrog Artifactory, ServiceNow SAM, Flexera, Technopedia/DejaCode, and other supporting systems.
  • Develop, configure, test, and support ServiceNow SAM solutions and the SBOM Module using platform best practices.
  • Develop and maintain ServiceNow request management capabilities, including catalog items, RITMs, approvals, tasks, and automated workflows.
  • Use Agile practices and Jira to manage development tasks, user stories, defects, testing, and delivery activities.
  • Perform developer and unit testing and support functional and user acceptance testing.
  • Maintain technical documentation and follow established change management and deployment processes.
Required Qualifications

Experience: 5+ years of experience in ServiceNow development/configuration, Software Asset Management, systems integration, application development, or related implementation work. Experience developing and configuring ServiceNow SAM solutions, and a strong understanding of SBOMs and software component management. Experience with APIs, integrations, workflows, scripts, automation, data processing, and Jira with Agile development practices is also required.

Technical Skills: Experience with REST APIs, web services, JSON, XML, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. Knowledge of SAM concepts including discovery, normalization, software models, licensing, entitlements, reconciliation, compliance, authorization, and lifecycle management.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced ServiceNow SAM and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) experience.
  • Experience with Flexera software inventory, discovery, normalization, licensing, and integrations.
  • Experience integrating with GitLab and JFrog Artifactory.
  • Knowledge of Technopedia's DejaCode Open Source Content Pack.
  • Experience processing and integrating CycloneDX and SPDX SBOMs.
  • Knowledge of open-source components, licenses, versions, packages, and dependencies.
  • Familiarity with Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE), Common Platform Enumeration (CPE), and Package URL (PURL).
  • Preferred knowledge with MECM and SaaS integrations with ServiceNow.
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator.
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer.
  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist - Software Asset Management.
