Role Summary:

Role Summary: The Sales & Marketing Technology Architect will own the end-to-end solution architecture for commercial (Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Bid Management, and Tender Management) capabilities in a pharmaceutical environment. This role evaluates and selects technology products, designs scalable integration patterns, reviews technical artifacts, and provides hands-on architectural governance to ensure high-quality delivery of data models and business intelligence applications supporting sales planning, forecasting, bids, and tenders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architecture & Solution Design: Define target architecture, reference patterns, and solution blueprints for Sales & Marketing platforms, data products, and analytics applications.
  • Technology Evaluation & Product Selection: Evaluate commercial technology products (build vs buy) and recommend fit-for-purpose tools considering scalability, security, cost, vendor roadmap, and operating model.
  • Integration Design & Delivery Oversight: Design and govern integrations across CRM, marketing platforms, data platforms, and downstream reporting; define API/event/file-based integration patterns, data contracts, error handling, monitoring, and resiliency.
  • Sales Planning, Forecasting, Bid Management & Tender Management: Provide architectural guidance for sales planning/forecasting solutions, bid and tender management capabilities, KPI frameworks, and semantic models to enable consistent performance reporting and decision support and evaluate the COTS products against Teva business requirements.
  • Data Modelling & BI Application Building: Drive dimensional/logical data models, curated data marts, and semantic layers; guide BI application design (dashboards, self-service datasets, and governed metrics).
  • Technical Artifact Review: Review and approve key artifacts including architecture diagrams, HLD/LLD, interface specs, data models, deployment architecture, test strategy, and runbooks.
  • Engineering Governance & Quality: Establish standards for coding, CI/CD, DevSecOps, logging/alerting, performance testing, data quality, and documentation; conduct design reviews and technical risk assessments.
  • Team Oversight & Mentoring: Review the team’s work, provide technical direction, unblock delivery, and coach engineers/analysts to improve design and implementation quality.
  • Stakeholder Partnership: Work closely with Sales Ops, Marketing, Market Access, Finance, and IT stakeholders to translate business needs into prioritized, implementable technical roadmaps.
  • Compliance & Data Governance: Ensure solutions follow enterprise security, privacy, and audit requirements; define data governance practices (lineage, access controls, and data retention) appropriate for pharma commercial data.

Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in enterprise architecture / solution architecture, with significant experience in Pharma Commercial (Sales, Marketing, Market Access, or Commercial Analytics).
  • Proven experience evaluating technology products and defining selection criteria (security, scalability, integration feasibility, TCO, vendor fit).
  • Strong hands-on experience designing and governing integrations (APIs, event streaming, batch/file integrations, middleware/iPaaS), including non-functional requirements (performance, resiliency, observability).
  • Strong understanding of sales planning, forecasting, bid management, and tender management concepts (e.g., targets, territories, quotas, demand/forecast inputs, actuals vs plan, scenario planning, tender lifecycles, pricing submissions, and contract award workflows).
  • Strong data modelling skills (dimensional modelling, star schema, semantic modelling) and ability to translate business KPIs into governed metrics.
  • Experience building BI/analytics applications and semantic layers (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik or similar) and enabling self-service with governance.
  • Experience reviewing technical artifacts (HLD/LLD, interface specs, data models, architecture diagrams) and providing actionable review feedback.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to influence engineering teams and business stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with commercial ecosystems and platforms such as Salesforce (Sales/Revenue Cloud), Veeva, tender and bid management solutions, marketing analytics platforms, and integration with enterprise ERP and pricing/GTN systems.
  • Experience on cloud data platforms (Azure/AWS/Google Cloud Platform) and data engineering patterns (lakehouse, ELT/ETL orchestration, metadata management).
  • Exposure to syndicated pharma datasets and commercial data sources (e.g., IQVIA, Symphony) and common commercial KPIs.
  • Knowledge of MDM concepts (customer/product hierarchies), data quality frameworks, and governance operating models.
  • Experience with architecture review boards, enterprise standards, and regulated environments (auditability, segregation of duties, secure data handling).
