Description & Requirements As the senior leader owning of Tier 3 (Enterprise Data Management) and Tier 4 (Data Foundational Technologies), you will translate corporate data strategy into technical reality. You will own the Maximus Global Ontology and Data Model, drive data quality, integration, metadata, lifecycle management, and build the Maximus Global Data Environment, ensuring frictionless access to AI-ready data at speed and at scale.
This is the execution, architecture, and infrastructure half of our Enterprise Data team-ensuring governed, high-quality, integrated data flows into production systems and AI pipelines while maintaining compliance and performance.
This is a remote position. Eligibility to acquire a US government Top Secret/SCI clearance preferred
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Own Tier 3 (Data Management) and Tier 4 (Solution Foundation): Lead ontology development and extension (including AIModel and Identity entities), metadata standards, data-quality management (target >99%), integration pipelines, and lifecycle policies.
- Lead the design and implementation of the enterprise data architecture, including the Azure Data Lakehouse, Purview governance layer, Synapse analytics environment, Data Factory pipelines, and machine-learning workspaces.
- Drive ontology enforcement through JSON Schema + Pydantic validation, TDFPolicy axioms, and DataGuard prototypes (RBAC/ABAC, OpenTDF).
- Build and scale AI-readiness capabilities, including RAG-ready datasets, vector stores, ethical model governance, bias checks, and AIModel tracking.
- Lead technical pilots and segment rollouts (e.g., CDL as first GLDE node, Federal Services ontology pilot).
- Ensure zero-trust compliance, data residency, and audit-ready lineage standers across all assets.
- Partner closely with the parallel Sr Director - Data Strategy and Governance to make policies technically enforceable.
- Deliver measurable outcomes such as 99% data quality, 100% ontology conformance, scalable KBQ automation, and foundation for 10-15% revenue uplift / 15-25% cost reduction.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study.
- 12+ years of relevant professional experience required.
- Familiarity with DoD, IC, and Federal missions, functions, tasks, and systems environments required.
Job-Specific Minimum Requirements:- 10+ years in data architecture, ontology/semantics, data management, or enterprise data platform leadership in complex, regulated environments (US federal, state, or local service, government contracting, healthcare, or financial services strongly preferred).
- Master's degree Information Science, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, or equivalent technical field of study.
- Hands-on experience with major modern data stack technologies (e.g., Microsoft Azure stack, AWS stack, Google stack, Snowflake, Databricks, etc.)
- Deep expertise in semantic modeling, OWL/JSON Schema/Pydantic, data quality frameworks, and zero-trust data security (OpenTDF, ABAC).
- Proven success delivering enterprise lakehouse/analytics platforms at scale ($B+ revenue organizations).
- Strong technical leadership with ability to translate strategy into production systems
- Familiarity with DoD, IC, and Federal missions, functions, tasks, and systems environments required.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:- Active or Eligible U.S. Government Top-Secret and above security clearance preferred
