Description
Job Summary
As an engineer on the Cloud Security Engineering team, you will design, build, and operate security platforms that protect enterprise cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and VMware private cloud environments.
Our team builds critical systems across three core domains:
Cloud account ownership and governance
Cloud security posture management (CSPM) data ingestion and analysis
Threat detection and alerting
These platforms ingest data from multiple authoritative sources, apply business logic and detection rules, and surface actionable security intelligence to protect both client and our customers.
This is a small, high-impact team where you will own significant pieces of architecture end-to-end. You are expected to write clean, well-reasoned code by hand, design systems of medium complexity, and reason from first principles when solving novel problems.
Equally important, you will leverage AI coding agents and large language models as force multipliers-directing agents through structured prompts, reviewing their output critically, and maintaining high engineering standards whether code is written by you or by an AI under your guidance. Our team actively develops with AI agents as a core part of the workflow, using structured skill files and conventions to ensure consistency across the codebase.
You will participate in 2-week sprints, contribute to thorough pull-request reviews, and take part in a weekly product support rotation to keep services healthy. Successful projects may be open-sourced and patented with the support of patent team.
Must Have
Core Engineering
4+ years of professional software engineering experience
Strong proficiency in Python 3.10+; you write idiomatic, well-structured Python by hand
Deep experience with FastAPI or equivalent async web frameworks
Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred), ORM patterns (SQLAlchemy/SQLModel), and schema migration tools (Alembic)
Experience with large-scale data management, including ingesting, normalizing, and persisting high-volume datasets with strong data integrity guarantees
Understanding of long running process design, including retries, progress tracking, and graceful failure handling
Working knowledge of concurrency and distributed execution, and Python trade-offs (asyncio, multiprocessing, task queues)
Ability to design medium complexity systems with clear layering, API contracts, and sound trade-offs
Skills
python, Terraform, CI/CD, AWS, Cloud Platforms, FastAPI
