Summary

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to support day-to-day payroll operations and ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on payroll experience, with highly preferred Workday knowledge.
Due to the timing and complexity of the payroll environment, we are looking to onboard someone early enough to allow for comprehensive training and knowledge transfer before the holiday processing period. The selected candidate will play an important role in maintaining payroll continuity, supporting employees and business partners, and providing coverage during critical payroll processing and blackout periods.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support end-to-end payroll processing and related payroll operations.
  • Ensure payroll is processed accurately, timely, and in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, employee inquiries, and processing issues.
  • Work closely with HR, Finance, and other business partners to ensure smooth payroll operations.
  • Assist with payroll-related reporting, reconciliations, audits, and compliance activities.
  • Provide coverage and support during critical payroll processing cycles and blackout periods.
  • Participate in knowledge transfer and document payroll processes and procedures.
  • Identify and help resolve operational issues to maintain payroll service levels.
  • Support ongoing process improvements and payroll system-related activities.
Required Qualifications
  • Proven professional experience in payroll operations.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, controls, and deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive/confidential information.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees, HR teams, Finance, and business partners.
  • Ability to work onsite 4 days per week and remotely 1 day per week.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Workday Payroll experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in a complex payroll environment.
  • Experience supporting payroll during high-volume or critical processing periods.
  • Familiarity with payroll reporting, reconciliations, and audits.

Given the timing and complexity of the payroll environment, Workday experience is strongly preferred. Candidates with Workday knowledge will be able to ramp up more quickly, support day-to-day payroll operations sooner, and contribute effectively during the upcoming holiday processing period.
