YOUR ROLE

The Senior Implementation Engineer will be the Engineering lead primarily responsible for implementing the physical layout, establishing the fulfillment processes, and executing solution concepts & equipment for new clients and new facility integrations. The Engineer will collaborate with the Design team and broader Implementation team to ensure the implemented layouts, equipment, & process are matched to the original design, validated during site/client launch, and aligned to proposed pricing.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

  • Collaborate with Solutions Design to understand data assumptions, solution design elements, and procurement needs for new client and new facility implementations

  • Lead site setup, facility outfitting, layout execution and process optimization activities in the fulfillment center.

  • Coordinate with IT and WMS Configuration team to define location naming, work zones, material flow & routing, and pick sequences in WMS system

  • Define the slotting and replenishment strategy for each new client engagement by analysing complex sets of data. Must communicate key insights and strategies to Operational partners.

  • Use data, direct observation, and predetermined labor standards to validate pricing assumptions, including change requests, and develop Operational reporting to drive visibility and efficiency in the operation.

  • Collaborate with the Training & Development team to ensure work instructions represent the specific processes and physical work performed in the facility.

  • Partner with Project Management and Procurement to ensure equipment and supplies are ordered, tracked, delivered, and implemented on-time and on budget.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, or related field of study

  • Minimum 5 years, preferred 10 years Logistics & Distribution experience designing, implementing, or launching new facilities and solutions.

  • 3PL or like experience preferred.

  • E-commerce and Omni channel fulfilment experience

  • Six Sigma and LEAN certifications a plus.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Data Analysis, process mapping tools, Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint. Knowledge of WMS functionality.

  • Experience in warehouse automation applications.

Characteristics:

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, demonstrated history of developing relationships and building trust, ability to work independently & in a team environment.

  • Ability to analyze complex problems and develop appropriate solutions.
