Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior IT Business Analyst with deep healthcare domain expertise to lead requirements discovery and delivery for complex technology initiatives within an Agile environment using the Scrum framework. This role plays a strategic and hands-on part in bridging business needs with technical execution, working closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, development teams, and senior stakeholders.

The ideal candidate brings strong leadership as a senior contributor, the ability to handle ambiguity, and proven experience delivering value across healthcare-focused IT solutions.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a senior liaison between business stakeholders, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and development teams
  • Lead complex requirements elicitation, analysis, and documentation efforts across healthcare initiatives
  • Translate business needs into well-defined epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria aligned with Agile/Scrum best practices
  • Partner closely with the Product Owner to support product vision, backlog refinement, prioritization, and roadmap alignment
  • Collaborate with the Scrum Master to ensure stories are ready, dependencies are identified, and Agile ceremonies are effective
  • Provide leadership during Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
  • Own end-to-end requirements traceability throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Proactively identify gaps, risks, and dependencies and recommend solutions
  • Support and lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities, including test scenario creation, execution support, and defect triage
  • Document and optimize current-state and future-state workflows, business processes, and data flows
  • Mentor junior or mid-level business analysts as needed
  • Ensure solutions align with healthcare regulatory, compliance, and data privacy standards

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 7+ years of experience as an IT Business Analyst, with significant experience in healthcare environments
  • Proven experience working in Agile methodology using the Scrum framework
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating directly with Product Owners and Scrum Masters
  • Strong expertise in writing high-quality user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional documentation
  • Experience supporting complex healthcare systems, workflows, and integrations
  • Hands-on experience supporting UAT and partnering with QA and development teams
  • Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skills
  • Ability to operate independently and lead workstreams with minimal oversight

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with healthcare standards and integrations (e.g., HL7, FHIR, X12, APIs)
  • Experience with Agile tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, or similar
  • Knowledge of healthcare compliance and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA)
  • Agile or Business Analysis certifications (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA, CSM, PSPO)
