Our client, a global investment manager with a substantial real estate investment platform, is seeking a VP, Data Analytics to join their New York team. This is a high-visibility role at the intersection of data, technology, and real estate investing, working directly alongside Portfolio Managers, Risk, and Quant teams to deliver analytics that drive investment decision making across the real estate portfolio.
The Role
Reporting into senior Data & Analytics leadership, you will own the analytics agenda for the real estate business, partnering cross-functionally to translate complex portfolio, market, and risk data into clear, value-add insight for investment decision-makers.
Key Responsibilities
Partner closely with Portfolio Managers, Risk, and Quant teams to deliver data-driven, value-add insights across the real estate investment portfolio
Design, build, and maintain scalable analytics and reporting solutions leveraging Snowflake and modern cloud data platforms
Translate real estate performance metrics - rent growth, occupancy, cap rates, valuations - into actionable analysis for investment and risk stakeholders
Collaborate with Quant Research and Risk teams to embed analytics and predictive models into portfolio construction and risk management processes
Own reporting workflows end-to-end, from data governance and pipeline architecture through to executive-level presentation
Support and enhance portfolio and market-ranking models used in investment planning
Drive adoption of self-service analytics and BI tools across investment and portfolio management teams
Act as a trusted analytics partner to senior stakeholders, ensuring output is decision-ready and clearly communicated
Requirements
8+ years' experience in data analytics, data science, or BI roles, ideally within real estate investment management, asset management, or broader financial services
Strong, hands-on experience with Snowflake is essential
Proficiency in SQL and Python, with experience across BI/visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
Demonstrated real estate asset class knowledge - comfortable working with portfolio, valuation, and market performance data
Track record of partnering directly with Portfolio Management, Risk, and Quant teams in an investment management environment
Experience building data pipelines and models that support portfolio and risk analytics
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills - able to turn technical analysis into a clear, value-add narrative for senior leadership
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Data Science, Finance, or related field)
