Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Systems Engineer – Calibration & Data Collection to support the development, testing, and calibration of advanced sensor-based systems. This role involves working at the intersection of hardware and software, focusing on device bring-up, system-level debugging, and calibration workflows.
You will collaborate closely with research engineers, scientists, and manufacturing teams to ensure high-quality system performance and seamless deployment of calibration processes.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and maintain data collection systems, including software, hardware, OS/firmware updates, and sensor integrations
  • Perform basic software debugging (primarily C++) and conduct error analysis in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Conduct hardware bring-up and validate functionality of consumer devices
  • Design and execute experiments to validate product quality and investigate hardware/software issues
  • Develop and implement automation procedures for robotics and testing workflows
  • Perform device calibration using specialized and proprietary equipment
  • Operate and maintain complex measurement and test equipment
  • Document processes, methodologies, and findings in collaboration with core engineering teams
 
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Physics, Mathematics, Aerospace Engineering, Optical Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Strong programming experience in C++ or Python following software engineering best practices
  • Hands-on hardware engineering experience (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Systems, or Optical)
  • Experience with system-level troubleshooting, including hardware, firmware, OS, and software issues
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in applied research or product development involving hardware/software integration
  • Background in robotics systems design and automation
  • Knowledge of optics, including imaging, illumination, radiometry, photometry, and geometric optics
  • Experience with statistical methods and data analysis
  • Manufacturing or production engineering experience
  • Conversational proficiency in Mandarin is a plus
