Summary
A senior-level accounting professional responsible for leading and managing an accounting team to enhance operational efficiency, ensure compliance, and support financial integrity. This role involves strategic oversight of financial reporting, policy development, and collaboration with internal and external partners on complex accounting issues and projects. The position requires a depth of technical accounting expertise, leadership ability, and a focus on process improvement within a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate workforce planning and career development initiatives for accounting team members.
- Hold team accountable for adhering to organizational standards, policies, procedures, and quality requirements.
- Oversee implementation and maintenance of rigorous financial controls to guarantee the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and uphold accounting policies, standards, and processes compliant with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and manage financial analysis, reporting, and related processes in partnership with internal stakeholders.
- Manage the preparation, review, and submission of GAAP and FERC financial statements and reports.
- Conduct research and provide insights on complex GAAP and FERC technical accounting issues.
- Coordinate with external auditors on financial statement audits, rate filings, and FERC compliance documentation.
- Drive initiatives to improve data automation, reporting efficiency, and process improvements.
- Lead and participate in special projects, initiatives, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of comprehensive, multifaceted accounting experience.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience managing accounting teams.
- Extensive experience in financial reporting and technical accounting.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and PC skills.
- Familiarity with Oracle Cloud ERP and Workiva is a plus.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex projects, analyze financial data, and work independently.
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a collaborative environment.
Publishing Pay Range: $120,000.00 - $160,000.00 Annually
This position offers a hybrid schedule, with time split between the office and remote work.
