The Lead Full Stack Engineer performs software engineering activities across all layers of the stack, including database setup, back-end programming, and front-end appearance. This role is involved in all stages of software development, encompassing front-end and back-end development, database integrations, network and hosting management, user interface, user experience, and server management.

The Lead Full Stack Engineer leads technical architecture and design, presents vision, and partners with senior business and functional leaders to define technical direction.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading technical architecture and design, and presenting vision

  • Applying advanced problem-solving using data structures and algorithms

  • Evaluating problems in both strategic and tactical terms

  • Leading and mentoring a small team of high-caliber engineers

  • Driving positive change with technical vision and innovative solutions

  • Promoting software-driven engineering and automation

  • Delivering business-critical systems and components with high quality and on time

  • Leading by example with hands-on platform, backend, and frontend development

  • Reviewing pull requests and providing constructive feedback

  • Investigating and proposing new ideas, frameworks, technologies, or processes

  • Advising executives to develop functional strategies on matters of significance

  • Exercising independent judgment and decision-making on complex issues with minimal supervision

Qualifications

Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

  • 8 or more years of progressive IT experience as a senior developer in large IT projects

  • 8 or more years' experience with cloud-based services and solution development

  • 2 or more years of project leadership experience

  • Experience designing solutions architecture and building scalable web platforms

  • Proficient in one or more programming languages at a tech-lead level (e.g., VueJS, TypeScript, NodeJs, Java)

  • Experience with Spring/Spring Boot

  • Experience with React Native

  • Experience building RESTful APIs

  • Experience with JSON, RESTful web services, and client-server interactions

  • Experience with highly scalable websites and web services (e.g., Vue.js, NodeJS, Microservices patterns, Angular)

  • Experience with infrastructure and security as code

  • Experience working with Azure Cloud Services or equivalent providers

  • Experience with environment management/orchestration systems (Kubernetes, Docker, AKS, etc.)

  • Experience with Adobe Experience Platform is a plus

Soft Skills:

  • Capable of owning significant design and development responsibility

  • Ability to think on your feet and conceptualize solutions from incomplete and evolving requirements

  • Comfortable with giving and receiving feedback within the team and across the organization

  • Experience building and leading high-performing teams

  • Strong mentoring and leadership abilities

  • Demonstrated independent judgment and decision-making on complex issues with minimal supervision

  • Ability to communicate technical vision and partner with senior business and functional leaders

  • Passion for contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experience

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$129,300 - $177,800 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
