Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Java Developer / SDET with strong experience across both Java application development and test automation.

This is a hybrid engineering role. Candidates must have meaningful hands-on experience developing Java-based enterprise applications and designing, building, and maintaining automated testing frameworks. Candidates with only Java development experience or only QA/SDET experience will not be considered.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across Core Java/J2EE, Spring, Selenium, REST APIs, SQL/database validation, CI/CD, and enterprise application integrations, while partnering closely with Development and QA teams.

Experience in Healthcare, Medicaid, or Health Exchange environments is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain Java/J2EE-based enterprise applications.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks using Java and Selenium.
• Build automated test scripts covering complex business logic, business rules, and rules-engine functionality.
• Develop, test, and validate RESTful APIs and web services using JSON and XML.
• Perform API automation and testing using Postman, REST Assured, SOAP UI, or similar tools.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and support continuous testing practices.
• Write SQL queries and perform database validation for application testing, troubleshooting, and data verification.
• Work with DB2 and enterprise databases to validate application transactions and business processes.
• Collaborate with Software Development, QA, Architecture, and other technical teams to improve application quality and testability.
• Troubleshoot application and automation failures through effective debugging and root-cause analysis.
• Support enterprise applications with high availability, complex integrations, and large transaction volumes.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, development, testing, defect resolution, and release activities.
• Contribute to CI/CD, DevOps, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Develop automation frameworks and reusable testing components from the ground up.
• Support functional, integration, regression, performance, security, database, and mobile testing activities as required.
• Evaluate and apply AI-powered testing tools and modern test automation technologies where appropriate.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 5–8 years of combined hands-on experience in Java software development and SDET/test automation.
• Demonstrated experience working across both application development and automated testing.
• Strong experience with Java-based enterprise applications.
• At least 1 year of experience supporting large-scale enterprise applications involving high availability and complex system integrations.
• Strong experience developing and maintaining automated testing frameworks using Selenium with Java.
• Experience with REST API testing, SQL/database validation, CI/CD, and enterprise application integration.
• Healthcare, Medicaid, or Health Exchange industry experience.
• Ability to work effectively with both Development and QA teams in an Agile environment.
