Summary Senior Project Manager / SAFe RTE (Experiment Manager Project) AstraZeneca is hiring a Senior Project Manager with strong SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) expertise to lead the Experiment Manager project, implementing the Genedata Bioprocessor platform for the Biopharmaceutical Development unit. The role requires complex, multi-team delivery leadership, COTS/SaaS experience, and life sciences domain knowledge. The position is based onsite in Gaithersburg, MD, working US East hours. Key Responsibilities - Lead end-to-end delivery of the Experiment Manager project, ensuring alignment across product, engineering, data, and vendor teams. - Serve as SAFe RTE: run PI Planning, SoS, System Demos, Inspect & Adapt, and ensure ART readiness and flow. - Manage cross-team dependencies, risks, and coordinated execution with transparent metrics and reporting. - Oversee vendor partnerships for COTS/SaaS integration, SLAs, contracts, and joint operating models. - Engage stakeholders across product, architecture, QA, security, compliance, and leadership. - Establish governance and ensure compliance with architecture, data, and cybersecurity standards. - Manage budgets, forecasting, resource planning, and benefits realization. - Promote delivery excellence through Agile-at-scale, DevOps, CI/CD, and platform reliability. - Lead organizational change, adoption planning, training, and rollout readiness. - Proactively manage risks/issues and drive accountability across teams. Required Qualifications - 20+ years of IT delivery experience; 10+ years leading multi-team programs. - Strong expertise in managing COTS/SaaS platforms and vendors. - SAFe RTE, SPC, or similar certification with hands-on ART leadership experience. - Life sciences/CMC experience preferred. - Strong stakeholder, communication, and executive reporting skills. - Experience with DevOps/CI/CD and agile metrics (e.g., flow, predictability, lead time). - Ability to work onsite in Gaithersburg, MD on US Eastern hours.
