TITLE: Telecom IT Technician
LOCATION: Gulfport, MS 39503
ANTICIPATED DURATION: 3 years
Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain (reactive and preventive), and support projects involving fiber optic infrastructure, data, and voice networks, and telecommunications transport networks.
- Logically troubleshoot and repair equipment related to RF microwave, fiber optronics, data and voice networks, wireless, LAN, and ancillary equipment such as alarm systems and power systems.
- Collaborate with system TO professionals, business partners, and vendors to complete daily duties.
- Support 24x7 on-call operations.
- Follow safe work practices and promote a safe workplace.
- Take and pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam.
- Work independently, manage time effectively, and communicate clearly.
- Drive long distances, work on uneven surfaces, climb ladders, work above shoulder height, and lift up to 50lbs.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in installation, operation, and maintenance of advanced telecommunications systems.
- Technical competencies in installation, maintenance, and project support of telecommunication networks.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair RF microwave, fiber, data, voice, wireless, LAN, and ancillary equipment.
- Knowledge of network topologies and their interfacing.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Experience:
- Involvement in supporting 24x7 operations.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with safe work practices and a safety-first mindset.
- Experience with systems interfacing and vendor collaboration.
The hourly pay rate range for this position is $20.00 to $27.00 (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
