The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is seeking an Engineering Flight Chief, (GS-0801-14) at the 316th Civil Engineer Squadron, Joint Base Andrews, MD. This is a superb opportunity for an exceptional, highly autonomous technical leader to serve as the Engineering Flight Chief (CEN). Operating with broad delegated authority, you will independently lead and direct an engineering flight responsible for a $1B+ capital project portfolio. As a second-level supervisor, you will plan, organize, and execute complex, multi-phase design and construction programs that directly support presidential airlift, national-level leaders, and critical mission partners.

Qualifications/Requirements: As the Engineering Flight Chief, you'll guide multidisciplinary engineers, manage complex infrastructure programs, shape long-range planning, and deliver high impact projects that keep Joint Base Andrews ready for any mission. This role blends strategic leadership, technical expertise, and program management to drive innovation, resilience, and world-class engineering outcomes.

Education requirements: Degree: Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Knowledge of a wide range of multidisciplinary professional engineering theories, concepts, principles, standards, methods, techniques, materials, and equipment, as well as knowledge of standard construction and contracting regulations, practices, and procedures.

2. Knowledge of the principles of planning and program management; common business and economic principles, theories, concepts, and procedures; financial management principles and standards; and of the DoD Planning, Programming, and Budgeting System (PPBS).

3. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.

4. Skill in evaluating state-of-the-art scientific and engineering technologies and incorporating into the planning, design, operation, maintenance, repair and upgrade of installation natural/built infrastructure.
