Job Title: Technical SEM (Strategic Engagement Manager)

Location: 100% Remote

Duration: 6+ Months Contract

Required Qualifications

• VMware Professional Services experience

• Strong understanding and technical skills of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF),vSphere,NSX,andvSAN), Vdefend, ESXi and Avi

• 5+ years of IT project, program, or engagement management experience (desirable)

• Experience managing enterprise technology implementations and client-facing engagements.

• Proven ability to manage stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.

Key Responsibilities:

Client & Stakeholder Management

• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for client engagements.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.

• Conduct regular business reviews and status meetings.

• Identify new opportunities, extensions, and growth initiatives.

• Manage escalations and resolve customer concerns.

Program/Engagement Delivery

• Oversee multiple projects/program/engagements and service engagements.

• Ensure they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

• Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, project management, and business stakeholders.

• Monitor engagement health, milestones, risks, issues, and dependencies.

• Support Agile, Hybrid Agile, or traditional delivery methodologies.

Program/Risk Management

• Planning and roadmap development.

• Dependency management across multiple teams.

• Track/monitor budget, schedule, and resource management.

• RAID management (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies)

• Governance, reporting, and executive communications

• Stakeholder and executive relationship management.

• Communicate highly technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences

• Present business and technical options to leadership teams

• Conflict resolution, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities

Resource Management

• Create and review resource staffing reports

• Technical Screenings of consultants and engineers

• Lead and mentor consultants and engineers

• Monitor utilization and capacity planning.

• Address performance concerns and support professional development.

• Manage onboarding and workforce planning/reporting activities.

• Ensure appropriate staffing and reporting for current and future engagements. Technical Engagement Manager in the U.S.

They will be external and internal client facing, so leadership and a great communicator is very important.

Also, this position may require US travel (10%-20%)
